WASHINGTON, November 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Aero Design Labs (ADL) and Delta Air Lines have entered into a memorandum of understanding solidifying their partnership to certify Boeing 737-800 and 737-900 aircraft with Aero Design Labs’ ADRS drag reduction kits. The 737-800 certification program is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2023, followed by the 737-900 in the second half of 2023. It is a mutual commitment of Delta Air Lines and Aero Design Labs to seek measurable benefits in reduction of carbon emissions across the Delta Air Lines 737NG fleet.

The MOU provides Delta Air Lines with the option to purchase up to 211 ADRS kits from Aero Design Labs.

By announcing the deal at an event hosted by ADL in washington d.c., Mahendra NairSenior Vice President, TechOps Operations & Supply Chain Management, said, “Delta is pleased to extend its partnership with ADL to test and certify the 737-900ER and 737-800NG drag reduction kits, continuing our investment in the improving energy efficiency and sustainability. “

ADL received its first STC in May 2022, for the 737-700 in conjunction with WestJet Airlines. ADL intends to certify its kits in other geographic regions after approval by the Federal Aviation Administration.
