Apple AirPods Pro 2 leaks revealing new features and new design

Apple is expected to launch the AirPods Pro 2 alongside the iPhone 14 series, likely at an event in September. But, months before the event, the TWS headphones appeared in a new leak via Chinese website 52audio, which not only gives us a look at the design of these pro-grade AirPods, but also shares what to expect. in terms of AirPods Pro 2 features. Let’s dig deeper.

Starting with the design, the case and buds look quite similar to the forerunner. They have the color white with black and gray accents. The cradle appears to have a USB-C outlet, which is questionable as some major publications believe otherwise. 9to5Mac thinks the Lightning port is unlikely to leave Apple products before 2025.

Under the hood, the AirPods Pro 2 would come with a new System-In-Package (SIP) for the H1 chip. This could bring “better integration and manufacturing technology”. The main benefit has to be better active noise cancellation (ANC).

AirPods Pro 2 features

The source also claims features like custom high amplitude drivers, adaptive equalizer, high dynamic range amplifiers, spatial sound for head tracking, and audio splitting.

Now, the audio benefits of the AirPods lineup are likely to expand with a new hearing aid feature. Even the case seems to have microphones which could be used to transmit sounds to the earpiece. Renders show that the case also has speakers that could perform the Find My function to notify the location of the case.
