Button Design Contest for Steamboat Days 2022 | Community

The Winona Steamboat Days Festival Association will be celebrating its 75th annual event in 2022. The organization is delighted to invite all students in Winona School District 861 to participate in the 75th Annual Steamboat Days Button Design Contest.

Prizes are Visa gift cards for 1st to 3rd place designs – $ 200 for 1st, $ 100 for the second and $ 50 for the third.

The first place winner will also receive a plaque with their winning design, a walk in the Steamboat Days Grand Parade, a personalized button to wear during steamboat days, a t-shirt with a pattern on it, glasses and carnival armbands for the family (maximum of five).

All applications must meet the criteria listed below and must be submitted by Thursday January 10, 2020:

Button design criteria:

??The button design should be round;

??Maximum of three colors, not including the background;

??The date of the celebration must be on the button (June 15 to 19, 2022);

??“Winona Steamboat Days” and “75th Annual” must appear on the button;

??Suggested design elements are: steamboat, carnival / ferris wheel, fireworks, paddle wheel or the 75th anniversary diamond;

??Drawings must be submitted on a 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of white paper with the drawing in color (template available at www.winonasteamboatdays.com);

??On the back of the template, we ask the student to include their first and last name, school, grade, parent’s name and home / parent phone number;

The competition is open to students in grades 5 to 12 in the Winona region only. All entries become the property of the Winona Steamboat Days Festival association.
