I to like sparkles. I think they belong in stylish bags, high heels, gorgeous manicures, and even the body (think Y2K glitter trend). But somewhere between the early 2000s and now, we seem to have lost the appeal of making the whole place sparkle. We dove into neutrals, invested in capsule closets, and ditched color, texture, and shine. Luckily, Emily Blunt brings back the sparkle.
Last night the actress shut down New York in a shimmering Prada dress as she attended English first. I’m sure all eyes were on her: her burnt orange dress shimmered in golden hues, making her the perfect choice for fall. The silhouette hugged every curve while the hemline stopped just at the ankles, letting me think it was tailor-made for the actress. The top also accented Blunt perfectly, thanks to a wide plunging neckline. Perhaps most surprising, however, was the cut-out bodice. Sure, I’ve seen the trend on stars like Bella Hadid, Kylie Jenner, and Lupita Nyong’o, but I’ve never seen it with glitter — and I’m then here for that.
For accessories, Blunt opted for rhinestone drop earrings, similar to this pair from Saks Off 5th. She also opted for gold and silver bracelets while pairing them with a purple stone ring. Blunt stuck to a classic pair of gold pointed toe shoe sandals, similar to Tony Bianco’s. The look reminded me of something you’d wear to a holiday party, and I’m definitely copying it this New Year’s Eve.
