Kasada Strengthens Anti-Bot Platform to Disrupt the “Resolution Service” Supply Chain, Protecting Organizations Against the Latest and Stealthiest Automated Threats

Makes the development and maintenance of new solver services used to circumvent bot detections time-consuming and expensive

NEW YORK, June 03, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Kasadaprovider of the most efficient and easiest way to defend against advanced bot attacks, today announced platform enhancements to address the growing prevalence of automated attacks, including “Resolution Services“, which are API tools as a service created to bypass the majority of bot management systems.

When people successfully reverse engineer (resolve) the defenses of a bot detection system, it gives them the tools to trick and circumvent the system. It also allows them to market the workaround and sell it as a Solver service to thousands of people for a profit. Attackers who buy Solver Services are armed with the power to successfully carry out automated bot attacks without technical skills. This includes credential stuffing, inventory hoarding, web scraping, and web reconnaissance.

Kasada’s enhanced platform disrupts this growing Solver Services supply chain as well as other innovative ways for attackers to evade detection. The company’s modern, proactive approach to stopping bots adapts as quickly as the attackers who attack them. This contrasts with reactive bot management systems that rely on static, poorly obfuscated defenses.

“In our industry, providing immediate and long-term effectiveness is paramount, but very few solutions protect and regularly modify their defenses to stay ahead of attackers’ speed of innovation,” said Jonathon Hope, Chief of product, Kasada. “Organizations using anti-bot solutions that remain static and do not obscure their defense methods are the hardest hit by Solver Services. The majority of bot management solutions fail to detect sophisticated bots by up to 90% time. Bots need to evolve to stay effective.”

With this release, Kasada has bolstered its architecture with new detections for modern bots, combined with the dynamic randomization of its defenses. Kasada’s platform will continually change throughout the Attackers’ attempt to reverse engineer her. This makes developing and maintaining Solver services even more time consuming and expensive than before.

These advancements are based on R&D since the launch of Defense V2 in Q1 2021 and include the following:

To deter the Solver Services threat:

  • Dynamic Defense Randomization – Kasada introduces dynamic defense randomization for its polymorphic scripts, detection logic and encrypted payloads. The solution responds to automated threats by maximizing the difficulty of automation. This disrupts the Solver Service supply chain by removing the return on investment.

  • Darkening Resilience – Instead of relying on weak obfuscation methods or open-source JavaScript tools that can be cracked easily, Kasada’s proprietary interpreter slows down reverse engineering attempts. New obfuscation methods make it even more difficult and time-consuming for attackers to try to decipher.

To detect the newest stealth bots:

  • Advanced detections – Kasada has more than doubled its customer polling sensors to identify the latest advancements in headless browser bots, custom mobile bots, and switch bots. Based on the latest threat research, these continuously updated sensors identify the presence of automation and interrupt the process when tampered with outside of a browser environment.

  • Improved anomaly detection – Most machine learning (ML) systems and rate limiting checks are too slow (minutes) or too narrowly targeted to detect suspicious malicious bot activity and respond to threats. Kasada’s server-side data platform now isolates and mitigates anomalies detected in Kasada’s customer base in less than 30 seconds, reducing the effective attack window.

“Our threat research found that over the past 12 months, there has been a more than 750% increase in solver bots used for login abuse and account takeover (ATO) attacks. It is unacceptable that attackers can easily circumvent the majority of bot management solutions for just a few hundred dollars. This needs to change,” added Sam Crowther, Founder and CEO of Kasada. gives the unique perspective to quickly understand attackers’ latest approaches and counter them with our agile defense platform.”
