Sharethrough launches its first green media products in partnership with Scope3 to decarbonize the programmatic advertising supply chain

Sharethrough is the first SSP to offer fully net-zero media to brands.

MONTREAL, June 6, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Shareone of the world’s leading independent omnichannel advertising exchanges, today announced the launch of its first Green Media product, Green PMPs (Private marketplaces). Green Media products measure emissions from a full programmatic advertising campaign using Scope3 data and contribute to the social cost of carbon for high-quality carbon removal projects.

In a survey of 1,000 adults across the United States, Canada and in the UK, 80% said they favor brands that strive to reduce their carbon emissions. Sharethrough’s green PMPs offer brands a simple path to setting and achieving net zero carbon commitments. Green PMPs connect to the same premium publisher inventory – counting carbon without sacrificing performance.

Sharethrough’s green media products are measured using robust industry data from Scope3 which examines all of an advertiser’s supply chain emissions, or Scope 3 emissions. scope 3 are more difficult to calculate, it is estimated that they represent 65-95% of a company’s total footprint. Sharethrough is the first SSP to use Scope 3 data metrics from across the supply chain to measure its green media products.

The emissions cost of a green PMP is calculated and contributed to a portfolio of projects that remove carbon from the atmosphere.

Sharethrough partners can now search for green PMPs directly in their demand-side platforms and activate them with one click. They can also work with Sharethrough to create personalized green PMPs across display, video and native ads.
