ShipHero Adds AMRs to Two Fulfillment Centers

inVia Roboticsa provider of e-commerce fulfillment automation systems, was selected by ship hero, a shipping and logistics platform for e-commerce brands and third-party logistics (3PL) providers, to expand its fully autonomous mobile robot (AMR) solution to two additional fulfillment centers. After automating picking and replenishment activities at its Jacksonville, FL location with inVia, ShipHero will now add the technology to its Allentown, PA and Las Vegas, NV warehouses.

Both companies have already built a native integration between inVia’s Warehouse Execution System (WES) and ShipHero’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) software that will ensure fast and seamless deployments to these additional installations. .

ShipHero began working with inVia Robotics in 2021 when they added the inVia WES to their acquired Cargo Cove distribution center. They wanted to start by adding intelligent work orchestration and direction to improve the productivity of their existing warehouse workers. Once they saw the efficiencies they could create with the software alone, they quickly decided to add task automation services with inVia picking robots. Because they used inVia’s robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) model, they could easily add new services and modules to the warehouse as they were ready to grow.

“Over the past two years, we’ve seen the demand for 3PL services increase dramatically, leading to an increased need for technologies that can help products move quickly through the ordering process,” says Lior Elazary, CEO and co-founder of inVia Robotics. “The native integration between our WES and ShipHero’s WMS will allow us to scale our two technologies to additional warehouses very quickly, avoiding the need for time-consuming custom system integrations. We are excited to expand our AI and automation services to ShipHero’s entire strategic distribution network.

inVia’s systems are offered on a subscription basis, where customers only pay for the productivity of the system. There are no large capital outlays or charges to own and maintain equipment, and technology updates are included in the service. So as new features and performance enhancements are added, customers always have the latest technological advancements at work in their warehouses. inVia operates the robotic system with 24/7 monitoring and support and ensures that the workforce – both people and robots – is managed throughout the day to orders are shipped on time.
