SkyGlass ready for new NCC regulations

The National Building Code (NCC) 2022 will see certain sections become mandatory from 1 May 2023. These include the new Australian Standard: AS 1288:2021 Glass in buildings – Selection and installation with changes specific to balustrades.

Balustrades longer than 5m at exposed ground level will no longer be permitted to use monolithic tempered glass. This means that laminated glass balustrades will be a more suitable option.

Australian Glass Group offers a full range of AGGLam laminated glass options, including bespoke laminates. SkyGlass is an ideal offer for new regulations. It is a frameless structural glass laminate made from a special interlayer sandwiched between two pieces of glass and custom made to meet individual needs. As a performance solution it can also enable applications without the use of handrails, allowing for more view and clean lines and AGG offers this service in-house for further support.

SkyGlass Ultra goes one step further by using ultra clear low iron glass to further enhance your view, providing greater clarity and removing the green edge of standard clear glass – ideal for exposed balustrades without handrails.

Enjoy the freedom of SkyGlass and SkyGlass Ultra to create more light and space in your design with full technical support from AGG.
