Special Offer for CandysDirt.com Readers: Free Tickets to Today’s WestEdge Design Show

Win a free ticket to today’s WestEdge Design Fair with promo code DESIGN2022.

Friday night saw the opening of the WestEdge Design Fair at Market Hall – its first ever in the Dallas market. It was, as the pre-show advertisement promised, a festive three-day event filled with super cool exhibitors and coveted products.

Case in point: Quadra by ibbq, an innovative table grill that I promise you’ll want in your backyard. Smaller than the company’s original Angara model, this stunner sports a square gas grill in the middle and seats four to eight people.

“It’s a game-changer,” said company co-founder Karim Pirani. “Ideal for guests, but also perfect for everyday family meals.”

Turns out WestEdge principal Megan Reilly was in the ibbq booth at the same time as us. “We are thrilled to offer viewers over 150 unique exhibitors, engaging design discussions, cooking demonstrations and endless design inspiration,” she said.

Megan also had a very special offer for Candy’s Dirt readers: free tickets to attend the Sunday fair.

To redeem, log into the WestEdge website and enter the online promo code DESIGN2022.

Next, we caught up with Dallas star Chad Dorsey on hand to tout his new line of STRIKE fire pits. “I was creating so many custom fireplaces for my design practice that it kind of felt natural.”

Its fireplaces are exactly what you would expect: sleek, modern and extremely stylish.

Other notables we spotted: showroom owner Amanda Taylor in the Scott + Cooner booth (check out the nature-inspired ping pong table and padded sectional), artist/designer Debra Ferrari (her new assortment of rugs is to die for) and Ever Sarah English and Ashley Leftwich from Atelier (the pink design wallcovering will blow your mind).

From top to bottom: Scott + Cooner, Debra Ferrari, Ever Atelier and Jason Mizrahi.

Also not to be missed: bespoke contemporary furniture by Jason Mizrahi, handcrafted lighting by Swadoh and clever indoor gardens by Natufia.

In addition to the Design Fair, your free ticket will also grant you access to the adjoining Art Expo, showcasing contemporary works by new and established artists.

“Art and design are always great complements,” Megan said. “It’s like two experiences in one.”

Front and center is a gigantic sculpture by Santa Fe-based sculptor Gino Miles, the first thing you see upon entering the exhibit area. Back in his booth, the friendly artist showed us his latest work, Curiosity, inspired by the morning glories growing outside his studio. “In a way, it captures people’s imaginations. I’ve made over 1,000 of these for customers all over the world.

Chef tastings add another dimension to the fair.

Sunday’s program of events also includes panel discussions with designers Sherry Hayslip and Benjamin Johnston. And in the SKS culinary pavilion, the focus will be on sous vide cooking.

“We want people to feel like they’re coming to a lifestyle event rather than a trade show,” Megan said.
