SSAB begins cooperation with Schlam to promote fossil-free steel and market products to reduce carbon footprint

The two organizations aiming to transform the sustainability of the steel industry

Melbourne, Australia, October 5, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — SSAB, Sweden’s global steel leader, has entered into an agreement with Schlam, an Australian supplier of world-class mining equipment and engineering services, which will revolutionize the steel industry by promoting increased use of fossil-free steel with drastic CO reduction2 footprint.

A new generation of sustainable products

As part of the ambition, SSAB and Schlam will seek to integrate fossil-free steel into their existing products and Schlam will leverage SSAB’s fossil-free steel to bring to market a new generation of sustainable products to reduce its CO emissions2 footprint.
