Talbert Building Supply acquires Poindexter Lumber Company.

Roxboro, North Carolina – Talbert Construction Supplies, an independent family-owned lumber and building materials dealer based in North Carolina, has announced its intention to acquire Poindexter Lumber Company of Clemmons, North Carolina. The acquisition will be Talbert’s fifth branch, joining sites in Roxboro, Durham and Asheboro, North Carolina, and Clarksville, Virginia. The closure is scheduled for November 15.

Founded in 1926, Poindexter Lumber Company is a fourth generation lumber and building materials merchant serving builders, renovators and custom retail customers in the greater Winston-Salem market. It is run by third and fourth generation owner-operators Tom and Chris Poindexter. Tom and Chris will both continue to fulfill critical transition and leadership roles as consultant and general manager, respectively, for the Clemmons site.

“We are delighted to join the well-established Talbert Building Supply group,” said Tom Poindexter, President of Poindexter Lumber Company. “Their business model is perfectly suited to continue what our family has established over the past 95 years, and we are grateful for this opportunity. “

“We are grateful to join with another independent dealer to serve our customers, communities and teams,” said Danny Talbert, Founder and CEO of Talbert Building Supply. “I appreciate the trust Tom and Chris have placed in us to continue their tradition of quality service and value. They have a wonderful company, a dedicated team, and an incredible facility to operate from. We look forward to honoring their family’s contributions to the industry and surrounding communities by welcoming the Poindexter team to Talbert and working together to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
